The Belarusian security apparatus said the nation is prepared for any possible turn of events, and it is acting to safeguard the country based on the experience of defending its skies. The assertion came from an Air Force official who also serves as Deputy Commander for Ideological Work within the Air Defense Forces, Colonel Anatoly Bulavko, and was reported by the state broadcaster STV.

In a public assessment, Bulavko remarked that the current forces would be ready even a year from now if luck or politics demanded it. He emphasized that the military and air defense components have built capabilities to respond to varying scenarios and maintain national security against potential threats that could emerge over time.

The official also noted that Belarus possesses the means to protect its sovereignty and secure its population in the face of shifting regional dynamics. While stressing readiness, he framed the situation as one where determined preparation underpins stability and deterrence for the republic.

Separately, the Belarusian Ministry of Defense confirmed an incident reported on Thursday, December 29, describing the downing of a Ukrainian rocket near Ivanovo in the Brest region. Military authorities stated that an S-300 surface-to-air missile system intercepted the projectiles launched from Ukrainian territory at approximately 10:00 in the morning, preventing potential damage on Belarusian soil. The event underscores ongoing vigilance across the country’s air defense network in monitoring and neutralizing airborne threats.
