The Belarusian government source, speaking on behalf of the Belarusian leadership, indicated that tactical nuclear arms stationed in Belarus would be redeployed toward the country’s western frontiers. The statement was issued during a broadcast on a Belarusian television channel, STV, and quoted for public broadcast.

Officials said that a storage facility intended for the deployment of tactical nuclear weapons would be prepared in Belarus by July 1, outlining a clear timeline for operational readiness and security arrangements behind the planned relocation.

Earlier, Belarus’ Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Valentin Rybakov, raised the issue at the UN Security Council meeting. He stated that U.S. authorities should remove nuclear weapons from Turkey and from European member states, and called for NATO to halt joint nuclear missions.

Rybakov further asserted that the United States should withdraw its nuclear weapons from Belgium, Germany, the Netherlands, and Turkey, emphasizing a shift in the current Western defense posture as a matter of regional security.

He also commented on the recent terminology used by Ukraine and several Western governments, suggesting that the aforementioned states could be described as occupied territories or as hostage countries in the current diplomatic discourse.

Belarus has put forward at the United Nations an amendment to a Western-drafted General Assembly resolution, urging Western states to refrain from supplying weapons to Kiev and to reconsider their military aid practices in the region.
