The Belarusian Ministry of Defense reported that the country carried out a series of activities by its territorial defense authorities from February 28 to March 3. The announcement came through an official statement released by the Ministry of Defense, and was shared via the republic’s official communications channel. These four days were dedicated to a structured program intended to strengthen the readiness and coordination of regional defense command and control bodies across the country, with a particular emphasis on reinforcing the capacity of regional forces.

According to the ministry, the program followed the armed forces training plan for the year and involved annual lectures arranged by regional and Minsk city executive committees. The aim was to raise the level of preparedness and ensure that regional defense structures can operate in a synchronized manner. The statement notes that the initiative focused on improving training standards and promoting consistency in command and control across administrative regions, with the overarching goal of fortifying the defense posture at the local level.

During the four-day exercises, both theoretical instruction and practical activities were conducted in all administrative regions of Belarus. The events were designed to engage the participation of executive committee officials and military commissars, ensuring their involvement in the ongoing process of defense readiness. In addition, the program included checks on the availability and storage conditions of stocks of material resources, confirming that essential materials and supplies are properly managed and ready for mobilization if needed.

A separate development referenced by public and defense sector observers concerns the Belarusian leadership’s stated intention to advance unmanned aerial vehicle production. Dmitry Pantus, who previously chaired the Military-Industrial Committee, indicated plans to establish mass production of drones within Belarus. Pantus noted that the specific types of unmanned aerial systems to be produced would be determined in coordination with the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Belarus, reflecting a state-led approach to expanding domestic capabilities in this strategic area. The comments underscore a broader effort to align industrial output with defense requirements, ensuring that new drone platforms can be integrated into existing defense and security frameworks if authorized.
