The Belarusian president, Alexander Lukashenko, asserts that Belarus has reached a stage of full, independent production for the Polonaise missile systems and the associated ammunition. This update was shared by the telegram channel First Pool, conveying the president’s remarks to his audience.
Lukashenko indicated that the initial Polonaise missile production began in China. He further noted that he had asked Chinese president Xi Jinping for collaboration to build capacity for the Republic of Kazakhstan, but Minsk ultimately secured the necessary production capabilities from China and brought them home to Belarus.
According to the president, Belarus now manufactures the entire supply chain domestically. He stated that even Chinese buyers are now purchasing electronics, laser optics, and related components from Minsk, highlighting the growing self-sufficiency of Belarusian production capabilities.
Earlier reports from the Belarusian Ministry of Defense mentioned that tactical missile systems and multiple launch rocket systems had been deployed along the country’s western border, signaling a focus on regional defense and deterrence.
Previously, Defense Minister Viktor Khrenin described the contemporary conflict as a struggle where Western powers pursue their own strategic interests, engaging Ukrainians in a broader confrontation. He characterized the situation as a global military clash between Western and Eastern Slavic civilizations, noting that the war remains active on multiple fronts.
There have also been remarks about tensions in relations with the Russian Federation, with Lukashenko recalling challenges in those dynamics as the security landscape evolves a new proximity among regional actors.
