Bear Attack Report in Petrovskoye: No Bear Found After Investigation

A local resident in the Lomonosovsky district of the Leningrad region reported a bear attack after hearing a child’s screams from the forest. This report came from the St. Petersburg Patrol portal.

The event unfolded near the village of Petrovskoye, where two vehicles were parked along the roadside. One car stood empty, while the other carried a man and a woman. The passenger stepped out, moved onto the road, and heard the cries of a woman and child emanating from the woods.

The Russian woman believed a bear had attacked mushroom pickers and promptly notified law enforcement. Police crews and game wardens were dispatched to the scene without delay.

When officers located the owner of the parked vehicle, they discovered there had been no bear attack. A resident of Primorsky Territory was reportedly mushroom picking with his wife and child at the time. The youngest family member had been bitten by a bee, and the tourists said they had headed to a pharmacy to obtain medicine. Rangers walking through the forest did not detect any signs of a bear in the area.

Earlier reports indicated that a Russian individual had been hospitalized after a wasp sting on a balcony, though those details are separate from the Petrovskoye incident and do not involve the bear investigation.
