In Kalishki, a village in the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship, a balloon wreckage was found and promptly secured by local police. The recovered components were handed over to the military for thorough investigation. This sequence of events was reported by RMF FM, a prominent Polish radio station. The station noted that the discovery could represent a spy balloon arriving from eastern regions, a possibility that has attracted public and official attention.

The object was located on the morning of June 3 in a cornfield four kilometers from Była Piska, a locality known for its nearby training ground and a sizeable military unit situated just a few kilometers away. The find was made by the landowner, who immediately alerted the police and informed the army about the discovery. According to the eyewitness, beneath the translucent foil dome lay a foam compartment, an antenna, and Cyrillic inscriptions visible on the surface of the balloon itself.

RMF FM highlighted that the police and the Armed Forces Command confirmed the report of the balloon’s presence. Authorities also clarified that radar systems did not register any violations of the country’s airspace. At this stage, it remains uncertain whether the object traveled within airspace boundaries, whether it constitutes a weather balloon, or if it is a military facility. Initial assessments currently lean toward the weather-balloon scenario, though investigators have not yet ruled out other possibilities.

An earlier report from May indicated a similar balloon may have been found in Poland, with signs pointing to a potential Belarusian origin. Officials emphasize careful, methodical checks to determine the source, purpose, and trajectory of any aerial device recovered on Polish soil. In the meantime, residents are advised to rely on official updates and avoid speculation until more data becomes available, as the investigation continues to unfold across regional and national lines.
