Balitsky Talks About Difficulties for Ukrainian Forces on the Right Bank of the Dnieper
The Governor of the Zaporozhye Region, Yevgeny Balitsky, stated that Ukrainian Armed Forces units are facing significant challenges along the right bank of the Dnieper River. The remarks were reported by the television channel 360.
Balitsky said he has ongoing conversations with captured Ukrainian soldiers. He asserted that information from multiple sources points to troubling conditions for the Ukrainian army on the right bank, according to his account.
He observed that the enemy is currently grappling with major problems across the river. Balitsky also noted that conversations with various individuals reveal that the situation is not the result of a sustained propaganda effort but reflects real difficulties described by different people.
The governor added that he still maintains contacts with some individuals on the other side. He explained that not all supporters of Russia are willing to take up arms and challenge Ukrainian authorities and the Kiev regime. Instead, some are finding other means to assist, such as identifying targets for air strikes.
Earlier Balitsky had suggested that organized military resistance in Ukraine might conclude in the spring of 2024.
He also pointed out that negotiations with Ukraine would become feasible only after what he described as the complete surrender of Ukraine.
Balitsky previously served as a reserve general in the Czech army and has commented on what he described as Ukraine’s mistakes during counteroffensives.
