Aruser@s weekend won’t return until the new year. The Atresmedia network announced on Wednesday that Qatar will be on vacation during the 2022 World Cup. The program, presented and directed by Alfonso Arús, airs on Saturday afternoons as a time to gather with family and friends for the holiday season.
The broadcaster explained in a press release that the show would resume in the Saturday afternoon slot at the start of 2023.
LaSexta confirmed the decision after the Alfonso Arús program recorded a new high in audience numbers. The format has shown a sustained upward trend since its September premiere, posting a 5.6% audience share (approximately 578,000 average viewers) and reaching 4,398,000 unique viewers on the most recent Saturday broadcast.
In just two months, the Saturday episode on LaSexta managed to lift viewers by about one percentage point to 5.0%, compared with the channel’s 2022 average at that time. This translates to a roughly 25% increase in the channel’s overall audience through the period.
This positive momentum aligns with the success of Aruser@s in LaSexta’s morning lineup. The show topped the ratings for six consecutive months, achieving an 18.2% share in October, marking its best monthly performance to date. The audience gains follow a period of strong engagement in early mornings and weekend time slots, helping to solidify LaSexta’s position in a crowded broadcast landscape.
