In Essentuki, within Stavropol Territory, police uncovered an arsenal and a cache of ammunition stored by a local resident. The collection was hidden inside a 200-liter grain barrel. This detail was shared by a well-known Telegram channel.
According to the report, the items were found in the possession of 46-year-old Oleg Bakhtin. They were located in a barn on private property at the nongovernmental horticultural partnership (SNT) named “Veteran.”
The barrel contained a pistol resembling a Makarov, an F-1 grenade, numerous rounds for an underbarrel grenade launcher, hundreds of bullets including a Luger pistol round, and a counterfeit grenade. The ammunition had been piled on top of the grain to conceal it. Law enforcement is investigating the ownership of the items and the purpose behind their concealment.
Officials reported that, at present, no criminal case has been opened against Bakhtin, though an administrative protocol has been issued for disobeying police officers during the incident. All surrounding circumstances and possible motives are under process as investigators continue to gather facts.
In a separate, earlier incident in Novaya Tavolzhanka, Belgorod Region, reports indicated the intention to establish a gun store within a garden setting.
