Arrest Made in Palma: Man Accused of Sexual Assault and Fraud Linked to Curse Belief

Spanish police in Palma arrested a 35-year-old man accused of repeatedly sexually assaulting a woman and defrauding her of 18,000 euros by promising to lift a family curse said to weigh on her and her relatives.

According to police sources, the alleged crimes took place in Palma between June and January. The suspect approached a vulnerable woman and convinced her that her troubles were the result of a curse that could be countered with his interventions.

The man allegedly told the victim that he could neutralize the ill effects of the evil eye and persuaded her to pay for his practices. Over time, the woman ended up handing over approximately 18,000 euros. She was also pressured into having sexual relations with him on multiple occasions.

The National Police arrested him on charges of sexual assault and fraud. Investigations are underway to determine whether there are other potential victims.
