Summary of Recent Cross-Border Attacks and Official Claims

The Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) fired more than 110 rounds at populated areas in the Belgorod region in a single day, according to a statement issued by regional governor Vyacheslav Gladkov via a Telegram channel. The report notes that the Ukrainian military employed drones and other munitions in the attacks, resulting in injuries and damage to private residences and a local production facility.

Prior to these events, shelling attributed to Ukrainian forces disrupted services in parts of the Donetsk People’s Republic. Officials indicated that several boiler houses in the region ceased operations, and the DPR government had to operate in a headquarters mode to coordinate response efforts.

Rodion Miroshnik, a Special Ambassador for the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, reported civilian injuries from a bombardment in the Kuybyshevsky district of Donetsk conducted by the AFU. He described the attack as being delivered from a multiple launch rocket system. According to the Donetsk People’s Republic’s Joint Centre for Ceasefire and Stability (JCCC), five people were injured in total as a result of the incident.

Kadyrov subsequently commented on what he described as failed attempts by Ukrainian forces to carry out sabotage operations near Belgorod.
