Three people were injured in a traffic accident on the AP-7 near Vila Joiosa, as reported by Traffic Safety authorities. The incident involved seven vehicles and disrupted the municipal area during the morning hours. Authorities say the collision cluster created a significant bottleneck, with drivers facing delays as the scene was being managed.
Multiple collisions occurred on Thursday morning, leading to major traffic problems in the direction toward Valencia. The roadway congestion stretched for miles, and observations indicated a 12-kilometer backlog as vehicles were held up by the incident and emergency responses.
The Civil Guard dispatched patrol units to the scene to manage the emergency and begin the on-site investigation. Their goals included assessing the conditions of each vehicle, determining the factors contributing to the crashes, and coordinating efforts to restore smooth traffic flow as safely as possible.
The Emergency Information and Coordination Center, CICU, also activated resources and sent an ambulance to the location to treat any injured individuals on-site and transport those in need of further medical care to nearby facilities if required. The arrival of medical personnel aimed to provide rapid assessment and support for all victims while securing the area for ongoing rescue and recovery operations.
Officials with Civil Guard sources confirmed that one of the injured appeared to be in more serious condition, while the other two sustained less severe injuries. Investigators continue to review witness statements, examine vehicle damage, and analyze road conditions and visibility at the time of the crashes to determine the sequence of events. Travelers are urged to remain cautious, follow directions from responders, and seek alternate routes if possible to avoid further delays during the recovery process.
In the meantime, authorities emphasize the importance of maintaining a safe following distance, adjusting speed to the prevailing conditions, and staying alert for changing traffic patterns as rescue operations continue. Motorists are advised to monitor official traffic updates and comply with instructions from law enforcement and emergency crews to help minimize additional accidents and to expedite the clearance of the affected stretch of the AP-7.
