Anatoly Yemelyanov, a deputy in the Lipetsk Regional Council, has proposed that married men should be able to participate in a special military operation only with their spouses’ consent. The suggestion was published by the LDPR Thrace regional branch in its official community, under the heading “in contact.”
The trigger for the proposal was a confrontation raised by a local resident. The woman explained that her husband volunteered for a special operation and signed a contract with the Ministry of Defense, yet she found herself left to manage the household and four children alone, shouldering a heavy burden without support. This personal account prompted Yemelyanov to consider broadening the required documentation for service entry. His proposal includes adding a spouse’s statement to the current package of papers, confirming that both partners are aware of the serviceman’s intentions and consent to them.
Yemelyanov noted that such a practice already exists in the Ahmat unit, where documentation includes spousal acknowledgment as part of the process. The deputy framed the proposal as a measure to ensure transparency and family awareness in decisions about military service, particularly when ongoing personal responsibilities could be impacted by deployment.
Meanwhile, on July 13, Artur Parfenchikov, the head of Karelia, commented that participants in the special military operation will be granted certain freedoms within the republic, including the option to leave their posts or roles. This statement came in the context of ongoing conversations about how veterans and active participants are supported after or during deployments, and it underscores the broader governmental interest in balancing duty with family and personal considerations.
Earlier reports indicated that areas affected by the operation have seen efforts to prioritize or prioritize initial plots of land and other support measures for participants, reflecting a broader approach to recognizing and assisting servicemen and their families in various regions.
