Five people sustained injuries in a dramatic early-morning crash on the AP-7 highway near Villajoyosa, as reported by the Center for Emergency Information and Coordination and the Traffic Civil Guard.
The incident took place just after eight in the morning at the 664th kilometer of the AP-7, heading toward Alicante, inside the municipality of La Vila Joiosa.

A Zafira passenger vehicle veered off the road to the right, hitting the embankment. After the emergency call, an ambulance arrived on the scene, followed by SAMU crews and two Basic Life Support units. Firefighters from the Benidorm station, along with Traffic Civil Guard officers and the La Vila Joiosa Local Police, assisted at the site.
Six people in the vehicle were assessed and transported to the accident site area with help from medical teams. The driver was uninjured and did not require evacuation from the vehicle.
The remaining occupants were conveyed by ambulance to Sant Joan Hospital. A 31-year-old woman experienced neck pain but was conscious; a 14-year-old girl had multiple bruises; and a 2-year-old girl along with two boys aged 6 and 16 were treated for bruising and referred to hospital based on information from the NICU.
Lots of accidents in Crevillent
The Villajoyosa incident followed a day marked by several crashes on the A-7 near Crevillent. One person died in a prior collision, and four others were injured to varying degrees, two of them seriously. A truck veered across the median and collided with a second heavy vehicle after crossing into the opposite lane. Subsequently two cars, a pickup, and a third truck were also involved. The highway remained congested for hours, particularly in the direction toward Murcia, and traffic authorities urged motorists to seek alternate routes.
