Alushta Tragedy: Suspect Detained After Fatal Attacks on Mother and Grandmother

In Alushta, a 33-year-old local resident is suspected of fatally harming his mother and grandmother, who allegedly hoped to place a relative in a psychiatric hospital. This update is based on information circulating through Telegram channel 112.

Reportedly, the 33-year-old man was diagnosed with schizophrenia. At a later point, he overheard a conversation between his mother, aged 62, and his grandmother, aged 86, in which there was discussion about admitting him to a psychiatric facility. In an attempt to avoid hospitalization, the man waited until his relatives were asleep, then strangled them. He reportedly moved the bodies to the courtyard of a private residence. A neighbor discovered the scene and alerted the police. The suspect was detained, and law enforcement is pursuing a full investigation to determine all circumstances and underlying causes of the incident.

Earlier, in Saint Petersburg, two men with prior convictions were involved in a separate incident in which they allegedly overwhelmed a friend in front of his 25-year-old wife while under the influence.
