In a village in the Altai region, authorities reported a violent crime involving a man who assaulted his wife’s sister and inflicted severe injuries. The news comes from the regional Investigative Committee’s press service, which monitors serious offenses in the area.
According to investigators, the incidents unfolded in March when a 40-year-old resident and his wife hosted guests, including the wife’s sister. After the gathering, the host and his sister-in-law drove in the sister’s vehicle to a shop. During the trip, the man’s advances toward his relative were rebuffed, prompting a physical attack in which the woman was repeatedly beaten.
Following the assault, the suspect placed the victim in the backseat, took control of the vehicle, and drove to a secluded location. There, he raped the woman, who managed to escape and contact law enforcement authorities.
Law enforcement located the suspect, who was subsequently charged with kidnapping, car theft, and rape involving violence that endangered life or health. Throughout the preliminary investigation, the defendant did not acknowledge the allegations against him.
