In Ulan-Ude, a 33-year-old resident with a prior conviction is accused of fatally assaulting his elderly mother. The incident was reported by the press office of the Investigative Committee for the District Investigation Department.
The body of the 69-year-old pensioner was discovered on February 27 in a Moscow Street dwelling, where he shared the apartment with his son. According to authorities, the two men had been together three days earlier, sharing drinks during a social gathering.
During the ensuing gathering, a dispute arose between the son and his mother. The son is alleged to have struck the pensioner multiple times with a sharp object, leading to the victim’s death at the scene.
Following the fatal incident, the suspect continued to consume alcohol in the company of the person who shared the residence. The pensioner’s body was found the following day by a friend of the son who then alerted law enforcement authorities.
A criminal case has been opened against the son under the article addressing deliberately caused serious bodily harm resulting in death and endangering the life of another person.
