Sirius University College has opened applications for the All-Russian IT Tour, a national competition designed for schoolchildren to showcase talent and practical skill in information technology. The program’s press service notes that winners and laureates will receive not only diplomas but also additional points that may benefit admission to Sirius College.

Eligible participants include ninth to eleventh graders from across the country, with the event conducted remotely. Students in any grade can join to demonstrate their knowledge and problem-solving abilities.

Organizers describe the All-Russia IT Tour as a chance to test IT and information security competencies, network with professionals in the IT community, and gain advantages when pursuing admission to Sirius College. This initiative is positioned as a gateway for young talents to gain visibility among leading experts and like-minded peers while building a meaningful portfolio of work.

Elena Savruk, the First Vice-Chancellor of Sirius University, explains that the competition assesses digital competence development among schoolchildren and serves to boost motivation for deeper study of specific topics. Participation is framed as a pathway to significant opportunities for motivated students.

Savruk adds that many future IT professionals spend substantial effort on relevant subjects in anticipation of higher studies. The competition allows each student to verify their level of knowledge, present a personal project to experts, and engage with peers who share strong enthusiasm for technology. Participants can gain practical experience by tackling real-world problems posed by partner companies and incorporate these experiences into their portfolios.

Tasks are crafted by Sirius University College’s senior instructors, university specialists, and representatives from partner organizations.

Competitors will address logic and programming challenges using one of several programming languages, including Basic, C, C#, C++, JavaScript, Java, Pascal, PHP, and Python, while designing and maintaining their own projects.

The competition will be conducted remotely in four rounds: April 9–26, April 27–May 10, May 11–31, and June 2–27. Interested students should submit their applications online via the Sirius.Online platform.
