Two young men, aged 29 and 31, were detained in Alicante after a bold theft that targeted a friend of one of them during a business transfer. The incident involved a backpack valued at 27,000 euros, taken in a moment of misdirection and opportunity.
According to the National Police, the suspect who took the money entrusted it to a friend to carry home for safety. He asked another acquaintance to accompany him to that address, hoping to ensure a discreet exit from the area.
During the route, a young man wearing a black helmet to conceal his identity stepped closer, presenting a threat and forcing the victim to surrender the backpack to his accomplice. The assailant fled with the backpack and the money, but police quickly apprehended the individual who allegedly facilitated the seizure.

Following the complaint, national law enforcement in Alicante opened initial inquiries and identified the robber. A search of the suspect’s residence yielded only a small sum of money, suggesting that the bulk of the proceeds had already been moved or hidden.
Further investigation revealed that the person who accompanied the victim on the day of the incident had established close ties with the young man involved in the robbery. In an important turn, it was uncovered that the arrested individual pursued the woman’s friend, and as they made a turn and disappeared from the victim’s view, the friend handed the backpack and the cash to the alleged attacker with whom he was collaborating, resulting in another arrest.
Both detainees, aged 29 and 31 and identified as Moroccan nationals, were placed in the custody of the Alicante Investigative Court as the inquiry continued. The case remains open with ongoing efforts to locate the missing funds and to clarify the exact sequence of events that led to the theft.
