Alicante police detained two Romanian men, aged 27 and 29, after they allegedly stole a luxury watch valued at 7,500 euros from a locker in a gym dressing room. The two suspects are being investigated for theft by force and for falsifying documents, as they presented altered credentials to gain access to the facility.
The intervention followed a report to the gym manager by the duty officer at the Alicante Police Station. He indicated that two men had entered the gym with access documents that appeared tampered with and that suspicions had grown after the same images appeared on copies of the documents with different names.
A patrol from the Provincial Citizens’ Security Brigade intercepted the men as they entered the gym and began a search of the premises. In an unexpected turn, one suspect was found hiding in a gym locker area while the other was discovered in the bathrooms, prompting immediate action by the officers.

The gym manager reported that the day before the arrest, a customer locker had been broken into and a 7,500 euro luxury watch was stolen. He relayed these details to the Alicante Central District Police Station for the record.
Police quickly identified the two suspects as the individuals seen departing the locker area shortly before the alleged forced entry occurred. The officers reviewed security and witness statements and linked the men to both the locker room theft and the prior incident at the facility.
Consequently, the authorities detained the two individuals on charges of theft by means of force and separately charged one of the men with document falsification.
