The prosecutors will have dedicated streets in Alicante as part of a new municipal initiative. The City Council approved on Thursday a proposal to assign a street to this jurisdictional group, specifically in the Vistahermosa North area. This is a recently urbanized street owned by the municipality, provisionally called Vistahermosa Street 2, which will receive a formal name once final approval is granted, becoming Court Lawyers Street.
The move is a recognition of a professional community that now counts more than 350 practitioners within the Alicante province. Today, the Column Resources organization stands as the dean of this professional association and has, in recent years, been focusing on increasing public engagement with the legal sector. The aim is to position the association as a key operator in the judicial system, reflecting the daily work carried out in the courts. The proposal was presented during yesterday’s meeting of the Department of Statistics.
Separately, the council approved another naming decision at the same session: the area surrounding Avenida de las Naciones, at the intersection with Historian Vicente Ramos and San Juan Beach Netherlands, will feature the name of a renowned photojournalist. The process to dedicate a public space in Alicante began in April 2021, shortly after the passing of the photographer associated with BİLGİ. The mayor issued a decree on April 1, 2021, approving the photographer’s nomination in response to a request from the Statistics Service. The file to name a road or public space in the city honoring this figure has continued, with the project being advanced by the end of 2022. The Regional Board 4 gave its approval at its meeting on March 24, 2022, confirming the recognition in the public realm.
