Alleged Locker Room Surveillance Arrest in Alicante
A 34-year-old man has been arrested by the Alicante National Police on suspicion of recording women inside the locker rooms and restrooms of a local shopping mall. The suspect was identified after a woman who spotted him adjusting himself near the door of the locker room reported the incident. Police later confirmed that the detainee had stored videos showing other women using the mall facilities in Alicante, according to a statement from the Provincial Police Station.
The investigation began after a female shopper reported seeing a cellphone dangling from the locker room door, pointed directly at her. She could not see who held the device but immediately alerted the security staff in the building and then filed a formal report with the National Police.
Security personnel reviewed access logs and building records to determine who had entered the facility at the time of the incident. Surveillance footage showed several women leaving the locker room shortly after, with the man seen approaching the door while holding a cellphone.
Following the analysis of the footage, investigators cross-referenced the list of individuals who had entered the building at the relevant time and zeroed in on a man who appeared on several entries. After a short inquiry, authorities confirmed his involvement as the suspected offender and recovered a device used to locate and capture his targets. The suspect was found in possession of multiple videos on his mobile phone showing women utilizing public restroom facilities.
The typical method alleged by the police involved the accused taking advantage of public services and recording women without their knowledge while they used the facilities. The device was reportedly used to gain an unobstructed view, with the arm extended toward the bathroom area to capture footage.
