Alicante Knife Fight: One Dead, Two Injured as Investigations Continue

A man died after being stabbed during a knife fight in Alicante on Friday afternoon. National Police sources indicate the incident happened around 5:30 pm. The deceased is a 52-year-old man of Spanish nationality.

The confrontation occurred near the José Rico Pérez stadium, in the area close to the Red Cross Day Center, for reasons that remain unclear at this time. In addition to the man who died, two other individuals were injured by knives and blunt objects, one of whom was Spanish and the other Colombian, according to police sources.

When National Police officers from the Citizens’ Security Brigade arrived at the scene, they observed a chaotic scene with multiple injuries. The three victims were bleeding heavily. One man lay unconscious on the ground with wounds across the head and other parts of the body, and attempts to save his life were unsuccessful. Medical teams were alerted immediately. The two other victims were transported to Alicante State Hospital with facial and limb injuries and were later discharged after treatment.

Three suspects aged between 25 and 35 were arrested on suspicion of murder and aggravated assault and are held at police stations while investigations continue.

The Forensic Police and Alicante Provincial Police Station Scientific Police officers, along with the Forensic Commission, attended the scene to secure the body and gather evidence.

The National Police continue the investigation to determine all the circumstances surrounding the incident. The motive for the fight has not yet been established.
