The incident occurred around 22:30 on 30 October 2022 at a house in Alicante. The owner had invited a friend to stay, but tensions rose over repeated cleanliness issues in the kitchen.
20 centimeter blade
During the confrontation, the defendant produced a kitchen knife measuring about 20 centimeters and made several attempts to stab the victim with the evident aim of causing fatal harm. The victim attempted to evade the blows, but the weapon connected on multiple occasions, striking near the arm, the ribcage, and beneath the armpit. After the attack, the victim managed to distance himself from the assailant and sought assistance from nearby people.
The case was processed by the public prosecutor and a lawyer representing the victim, together with a special prosecutor. Initially, the prosecutors asked for an eight-year prison term for the defendant. However, before the trial commenced, a settlement was reached during the hearing phase, and the request was reduced to two and a half years in prison.
Besides the custodial sentence, the defendant has been in custody since the arrest related to the incident. The victim is entitled to compensation amounting to 9,000 euros, and the defendant is obligated to cover the costs of the private prosecution.
