On Wednesday, September 28, Alicante will host what is considered the province’s largest business gathering. The event, organized by the Alicante Circle of Directors, centers on the theme “Adaptation as a Key Strategic Factor” and will feature a lineup of high-profile speakers who shape the regional and national economy.

Among the notable participants are Gonzalo Gortázar, CEO of CaixaBank; Dimas Gimeno, former president of El Corte Inglés and the current CEO of WOW; Francisco Lorente, president of the MSC shipping company in Spain; Hugo Rovira, NH director for Southern Europe and the United States; and Jorge Gallardo, head of the Vithas health group, along with other leaders from diverse sectors.

Locally, the gathering will include Ezekiel Sánchez, chief executive of PLD Space, and Raul Torres, co-founder of the same company. Elche is set to mark a milestone as the first Spaniard involved in launching a rocket into space, with participation from Joaquin Pedrano, founder and CEO of Meta Software Factory.

Additionally, Raul Hussein, director of the ITI Advanced Data Analysis Services Department on Digital Transformation in the new era of artificial intelligence, will contribute to the technology segment with a virtual presentation. Javier Rodríguez, vice president and CSO of Vestas, and Ricardo García, director of Cajamar Innova, are also among the speakers, as well as Nuria Vilanova, president of Atrevia, and Agnes Juste, president of Grupo Juste and vice president of CEOE. Speakers represent a wide range of sectors, including tourism, fashion and retail, maritime freight, banking, consultancy, communications, food, health, technology, energy, chemistry, medicine, and aviation. Their collaboration is expected to provide attendees with a broad perspective, allowing participants to observe how different companies approach challenges, exchange practical ideas, and reaffirm strategies that drive growth in a rapidly changing market. Eve Toledo, president of El Círculo-Directivos de Alicante, emphasizes that the breadth of industries represented will yield valuable insights and meaningful networking opportunities for all attendees.

The morning program begins at eight o’clock, followed by accreditations at the ADDA Auditorium. A networking luncheon hosted at the venue will commence at 3:30 PM, providing participants with time to connect with peers and potential collaborators in a relaxed setting.

The event embraces a hybrid format, combining in-person attendance with a flowing online option that makes participation accessible to a broader audience at no cost. The corporate opening will be led by Eva Toledo, alongside Carlos Mazón, president of the City Council, and Luis Barcala, the mayor of Alicante. The host for the day will be the entertainer Javier Luxor, adding a touch of charisma to the proceedings.
