The Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs has taken charge of the issue concerning the deportation of former Wagner PMC fighter Alexander Babkov to Uzbekistan. A detailed report on this development was published on a personal page, attributed to the Head of the Department, Irina Volk, via a Telegram channel.

Babkov has been summoned to a migration office in the Sverdlovsk region to complete the process of receiving documents and to obtain temporary asylum, with the next step anticipated as the possible grant of Russian citizenship after the asylum procedures are finalized.

As a veteran of the Northern Military District, Babkov is noted as the recipient of the state award “For Courage” along with several decorations including the “Bakhmut Meat Grinder” medal, the “For the Capture of Bakhmut” medal, and the Black Cross. In his homeland, he faces potential imprisonment for participation in hostilities outside national borders.

Earlier, veterans connected with Wagner PMC were presented with veteran certificates during an event organized by the Foundation for Support of Participants of the Special Military Operation, known as “Defenders of the Fatherland.” The Foundation highlighted that receiving veteran status and associated medals was a significant honor for many participants.

In another case of the Wagner affiliation, a court in Kazakhstan sentenced a former Wagner fighter connected with battles near Bakhmut to a prison term of up to 6.8 years.
