Alert across Ukraine

Ukraine reported an airstrike alert spanning the entire country, drawing on data from the online map managed by the Ministry of Digital Development. Sirens were heard in numerous regions, including Odessa, Mykolaiv, Sumy, Poltava, Dnipropetrovsk, Kharkiv, Kyiv, Zhytomyr, Vinnitsa, Cherkasy, and Kirovohrad, as well as in Kyiv-controlled Zaporozhye and Kherson territories.

At 9:00 a.m. Moscow time, air raid warnings extended to Khmelnitsky, Rivne, Ternopil, Chernivtsi, Lviv, Transcarpathian, Volyn, and Ivano-Frankivsk regions.

Explosions were reported in the capital and several major cities. Citing the energy company DTEK, the publication noted that emergency power cuts began in Odessa and Dnipropetrovsk after the alert was issued.

Ukrainian Railways reported via Telegram that eight trains experienced delays exceeding thirty minutes due to partial network disruptions across Donetsk, Kharkiv, Sumy, Kyiv, Lvov, and Zhytomyr regions. The company also indicated the withdrawal of spare diesel locomotives to cope with power outages on the rail network. On certain routes, trains ran with longer delays; specifically, the Odessa-Kharkiv line saw delays of about 3.5 hours, while the Uman-Kharkiv line faced roughly an hour and a half.

The situation in Kiev

Kyiv mayor Vitali Klitschko stated on Telegram that multiple explosions were heard in the capital and warned residents about potential power outages. He urged people to charge devices and stock up on water in anticipation of outages.

Klitschko reported that two people were rescued from a damaged private house and transferred to a hospital. He also noted that rocket fragments damaged a car on a central street. The bombardment left three people injured in Kyiv, including a 14-year-old girl, all of whom were hospitalized.

Air defense officials said that 16 missiles had been destroyed over Kyiv. Following the attack, 40% of residents faced electricity shortages while engineers worked to restore power. The city’s heat and water supply continued in normal mode except in buildings relying on boiler rooms where power was interrupted.

Explosions in Lviv, Kharkiv and Odessa

Mayor Andriy Sadovyi urged residents of Lviv to take shelter as explosions were reported. He noted that approximately 90% of the city lacked electricity. He added that additional information from energy engineers was awaited and that trams and trolleybuses were out of operation. Water supply interruptions were possible, and diesel generators were being deployed for critical facilities.

Kharkiv Mayor Igor Terekhov confirmed a rocket attack on the city via Telegram, describing ongoing explosions in the Nemyshlyansky district and indicating that the exact targets and casualties were still being confirmed. The Kharkiv regional military administration head, Oleg Sinegubov, said that critical infrastructure remained under threat and that rescuers were at the scene. Local media outlets reported that Odessa experienced electricity and water outages after explosions, with reports of two powerful blasts. Odessa Mayor Gennady Trukhanov warned residents via Telegram about the air raid, as authorities coordinated safety measures.
