A 65-year-old woman, a Spanish national, was found deceased in her Alcoy home around 7 a.m. this morning. The body showed a belt tied around the neck and multiple stab wounds to the chest along with other injuries visible on examination.
After a call to 112, a National Police team arrived at the residence and were greeted by one of the victim’s daughters, aged 42. On opening the door voluntarily, she admitted that she had been involved in the events that led to the death.
Law enforcement immediately activated the violent crime protocol to secure the scene and preserve evidence until forensic specialists could arrive. The process involved the participation of the forensic commission and a team of scientists from the judicial police to begin a detailed analysis of the residence and the immediate surroundings.
The information came to light following contact with another daughter of the deceased. She was not at home when the incident occurred but was reportedly at the residence shortly after the discovery. Allegations describe the woman as experiencing psychological difficulties and temporarily staying with her mother prior to the events. A heated argument inside the home is believed to have contributed to the tragedy.
The man suspected of committing the killings, considered by investigators to be the perpetrator and possibly the father of the deceased, was detained and taken into custody at the Alcoy National Police Station. Investigators continued to gather evidence and interview witnesses as the case proceeds toward judicial proceedings.
