In Alcoy, local law enforcement reported the arrest of a 23-year-old individual connected to a home robbery. The incident involved the theft of lottery coupons and a mobile phone from the residence of a lottery vendor, with the suspect allegedly acting on a close accomplice at the scene. The break-in occurred after the intruder breached the perimeter wall, gained access to the communal courtyards, and entered the house through an exterior door. Police noted footprints on nearby walls, suggesting the intruder moved carefully through the property as the crime unfolded. The seized loot included lottery coupons with a total value of about 250 euros, pieces of which had possible connections to ongoing sales or distribution within the neighborhood.
From the outset, investigators suspected someone known to the victim, given that the person was present at the home during the robbery. K-9 units were deployed to scan the area, but the animals did not indicate the presence of the suspected perpetrator. Officers from the Alcoy Police Station conducted interviews with local residents who were connected to the sale of the same lottery coupons implicated in the crime. A few of the coupons matched the numbers associated with those stolen during the incident, and a young man who had recently interacted with the victim was identified as a potential associate of the crime.
After a thorough follow-up, authorities traced the suspect to a particular location where he was found in possession of the victim’s mobile phone. The 23-year-old male, described as Hispanic, was taken into custody and charged with the crime of forced theft of property. He was subsequently placed at the disposal of the Alcoy Court of Inquiry to proceed with the legal process and further inquiries into the case.
