A 28-year-old woman was arrested this morning on suspicion of stabbing death in the home shared by a couple in the town center of Alcàsser, Valencia. The alleged killer contacted emergency services to report that his partner was bleeding, but he only learned later that he had caused the injuries himself.
The call was received around three o’clock in the morning, and multiple police units responded to the scene. Local police and the Civil Guard, along with a SAMU ambulance, confirmed that the 54-year-old man had died from his wounds at the residence.
Initial reports indicate the homicide occurred during a dispute between the partners. Although there had been no formal complaints, neighbors described previous tensions. The man’s body was found in the kitchen, clearly deceased and with fatal injuries.
The crime occurred at number three Plaza del Castell, beside the Alcàsser town hall, in a traditional residence adapted into four separate rooms used as small studio apartments with sleeping quarters and small kitchens, each with its own access.
Joaquín, a resident on the ground floor, recalled waking to the sounds of the police and ambulances. The couple, with the woman living upstairs, reportedly shared the building with another tenant who occupied a downstairs room and was not present during the incident.
Around three in the morning, the emergency line received a distressed call from a woman who seemed disoriented and unable to explain the situation clearly, her story sounding inconsistent and possibly influenced by intoxication or other substances.
When the Alcàsser Local Police and Picassent Civil Guard arrived, investigators found the man dead with stab wounds to the chest. A visible injury was noted on his body, though authorities indicated there could be additional traumas not yet documented at that moment.
After questioning the surviving partner and filing a formal report, investigators pursued multiple lines of inquiry and detained the woman on suspicion of involvement in her partner’s death. A kitchen knife found at the scene is being examined as the potential weapon.
Authorities from the Picassent Judicial Instruction Court ordered the corpse transported to the Valencia Institute of Forensic Medicine for formal autopsy and official determination of cause and manner of death.
