A group from the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) was struck while in a mined area near the village of Chervonaya Dibrova, southwest of Kremennaya in the Lugansk People’s Republic. The incident was described by a military expert, retired LPR lieutenant colonel Andrei Marochko, cited by RIA News. According to Marochko, three Ukrainian soldiers sustained injuries. One soldier died and was left behind by teammates near the blast site.
The expert explained that during ground reconnaissance in the Chervonaya Dibrova area, a rotating group from the Armed Forces of Ukraine reportedly entered a minefield that had not been marked on maps. This account highlights the risk of mine hazards in contested zones and the potential for miscoordination during reconnaissance missions.
Earlier, the Russian Defense Ministry reported that artillery from a motorized rifle formation in the Center group of Russian troops dismantled a rotation of Ukrainian forces and destroyed Ukrainian transport carrying personnel and ammunition in the Krasnolimansk direction within the special operation zone.
There was also a note that Ukraine had begun deploying Western Leopard tanks for their defensive lines, a measure that was reported in connection with ongoing operations in the region. In analyzing these developments, observers emphasize the fluid and evolving nature of frontline tactics and the critical role of mine risk awareness for forward operations.
