Adviser Claims Ukrainian Forces Suffer Thousands of Casualties Amid Frontline Operations

An adviser to the head of the Donetsk People’s Republic stated in recent weeks that Ukrainian forces have sustained thousands of casualties as the conflict continues across the front. The claim was reported by RIA News and cited in discussions about battlefield losses.

The adviser noted that Ukraine’s inventory of foreign weapons appears to be decreasing, asserting that the Ukrainian armed forces have endured heavy losses in both personnel and equipment since Russian forces intensified operations along the entire front line.

He remarked that within a two to three week period the Ukrainian side experienced a substantial number of casualties, described as thousands, and a loss of hundreds of pieces of military hardware. The adviser’s remarks were shared during briefings about ongoing hostilities and the balance of forces on the ground.

Earlier, Sergei Zybinsky, head of the press center of the Western group, reported that Russian military units destroyed an ammunition depot and an electronic warfare station belonging to Ukrainian forces in the Kupyansk direction. The depot belonged to the 60th Mechanized Brigade of the Ukrainian army and was located in the Ogurtsov region, according to the briefing from the Western group’s press center.

Another Ukrainian military official commented on the broader context, suggesting that there is a lack of consensus regarding the causes of the current conflict within Ukraine. The statements come amid ongoing assessments of military operations and regional responses to the fighting along the front lines.
