A serious road crash in the Novosibirsk region left a local resident hospitalized after a collision involving a Toyota car and two heavy trucks. The incident was reported by RIA News, citing data from the regional traffic police.
The wreck occurred in the Cherepanovsky district along the R-256 Chuysky Trakt highway, at the 117th kilometer. According to statements from authorities, the Toyota driver attempted to overtake one of the participants in the crash when the sequence of events unfolded.
The ministry explained that during the overtaking maneuver at the 117th kilometer, the Toyota driver lost control, struck an oncoming Sitrak truck, and then collided with a passing Volvo truck. The impact produced significant damage across multiple vehicles, including both main vehicles involved and the overtaken truck, as visible in scene photographs.
Emergency responders attended the scene and transported the Toyota driver to a hospital. The patient sustained injuries of varying severity, and authorities have not disclosed the current condition of the individual.
Authorities have initiated a formal review of the incident. Investigators will examine all factors surrounding the crash to determine fault and to document the sequence of events leading up to the collision.
In a separate note, a bus that had been transporting passengers in Kuzbass reportedly veered into a railway area, prompting additional safety concerns and investigations about traffic and passenger-transport safety in the region.
