A Shooting in Madrid Leaves One Teen Dead and a Young Adult Injured; Police Open Investigation

On Sunday evening, a 15-year-old boy died after sustaining injuries in a shooting on Calle Angosta, in the Villaverde district of southern Madrid, according to a spokesperson for Madrid Emergencies. The incident prompted a rapid response from local services as they arrived at the scene and began life-saving efforts.

Civil Protection services reported that the minor was in cardiorespiratory arrest when responders reached him. Despite those efforts, medical teams were unable to revive him, and the teenager was pronounced dead after life-support maneuvers had been attempted.

A second victim, a 21-year-old man, also suffered a gunshot wound to the abdomen. He was transported to Octubre Hospital in serious condition around midnight with ongoing injuries that required urgent medical care. Hospital officials have monitored his condition closely as part of the ongoing treatment plan.

A psychologist from Samur, the city’s emergency medical service, attended the scene to support relatives, witnesses, and involved personnel who were present during the incident around 23:15. The psychological services offered immediate on-site counseling to help those affected process the traumatic event and to assist responders in handling the emotional aftermath.

The National Police have taken charge of the investigation into the attack. Officers are reviewing surveillance footage, collecting statements, and examining the circumstances surrounding the shooting to identify those responsible and to determine the sequence of events that led to the violence. The police have appealed to the public for any information that might aid the inquiry and are coordinating with prosecutors to advance the case as investigators pursue all viable leads. In collaboration with Madrid’s emergency services, investigators are also working to assess any potential links to other recent incidents in the area and to gather evidence from the scene that could clarify motive and weapon used.
