A series of alerts and shelling incidents affected Belgorod and nearby areas
An alert siren linked to missile warnings sounded in Belgorod, the Belgorod region, and the city of Valuiki, according to a telegram post from the Belgorod City Hall channel. The message urged residents to remain indoors and avoid standing near windows as a precaution during the incident sequence.
On 12 February, fire and artillery activity by the Armed Forces of Ukraine targeted the village of Novaya Tavolzhanka in the Belgorod region. The strikes damaged three houses as a result of the attack. Local authorities began assessing the impact and taking steps to support affected residents in the wake of the damage.
On the same day, Vyacheslav Gladkov, the governor of the Belgorod region, reported that shelling by Ukrainian forces had damaged 15 large enterprises in the Shebekinsky district. He noted that compensation for damages was estimated at 1.4 billion rubles, with measures expected to help repair infrastructure and support the local economy as repair work proceeds.
Earlier, Gladkov had announced the destruction of a kamikaze drone attributed to Ukraine. The incident was described as taking place near the village of Poroz, within the Grayvoronsky urban district, when the drone was neutralized on the outskirts of the locality.
Additionally, a former Lokomotiv player commented on the situation, describing Belgorod as a city under fire from Ukrainian Armed Forces. The remarks highlighted the immediate human and social impact of the ongoing tensions on residents and the local community, underscoring concerns about safety and security in the region.
