A man was detained after entering another person’s home in Kabardino-Balkaria and attempting to rape a 15-year-old girl. This account is reported by the Telegram channel Sapa Caucasus.

The incident happened in the village of Çegem-2 in September 2013. An unidentified individual entered the home of a 57-year-old man and attacked him with an axe. He then moved into the next room and assaulted the homeowner’s 15-year-old daughter. The girl resisted with determination, and her younger brothers woke up, causing the assailant to flee before achieving his objective.

Authorities pursued the suspect for a decade. Eventually, a man convicted in the past of drug-related offenses came forward and confessed to the crime. He now faces charges including unlawful entry, criminal preparation, and causing minor bodily harm with intent.

In a separate report, there was mention of a case involving a nine-year-old girl who was kidnapped and sexually assaulted for two days while walking in a park, highlighting ongoing concerns about safety and violence against minors in the region.
