A report from a Telegram channel known as Shot detailed a dramatic incident near the Ukrainian border involving a kamikaze drone and a local pig farm in Belgorod region. The notification described how the drone, operated by Ukrainian forces, approached Agro-Belogorye and delivered a strike that set off alarms and raised questions about cross-border escalation in the area. The account emphasized the immediacy of the event, noting that the farm was hit within hours of the initial assault and that security measures were briefly disrupted as the impact unfolded.
According to the same source, the attack did not end with the drone strike alone. Hours after the airborne assault, emergency measures were triggered at the enterprise, with personnel reporting efforts to contain the situation and assess the damage. The initial tally mentioned by Shot indicated that 179 pigs had died as a result of the attack, while about 150 animals sustained injuries requiring attention. The figures reflected a significant hit to the farm’s operations and highlighted the potential animal welfare implications in the midst of ongoing hostilities.
Shot further claimed that the bombardment of Agro-Belogorye was carried out the day prior to the published account, placing the event in a broader sequence of incidents along the border. The farm’s location, approximately three kilometers from the Ukrainian border, situates it within a zone frequently affected by tension and cross-border fire, underscoring the vulnerability of agricultural facilities in close proximity to armed conflict zones.
Early on a morning described in the report as nine o’clock, witnesses or officials stated that a kamikaze drone breached the farm’s perimeter, entering the grounds and inflicting damage to security cameras mounted on the water tower. The intrusion coincided with an explosion that sent a shockwave through parts of the property, prompting immediate assessment by on-site teams and drawing attention to the level of risk faced by farm workers in such environments.
In the aftermath, the publication recounted that five mines were directed at the hulls during the afternoon, damaging three buildings on the site. The blast also damaged a gas pipeline, compounding safety concerns and complicating recovery efforts. On the ground, workers began the painstaking process of surveying the site, documenting losses, and attempting to rescue or soothe animals that had been injured or left in shock by the disruptions and noise of the strikes.
Vyacheslav Gladkov, the governor of Belgorod region, had previously spoken about other consequences of the wider conflict, including reports that Ukrainian forces had engaged targets in nearby areas, with claims of damage to multiple installations in the Volokonovsky district. In the governor’s account, the incident involved artillery and aerial activity that affected several facilities and infrastructure components within the region, illustrating how the border dynamics can spill over into civilian and agricultural sectors alike.
