A brush and house fire broke out in a field near Rabasa, drawing attention to a nearby homeless encampment. The blaze consumed roughly 20,000 square meters, according to authorities from the Alicante Department of Security.
The blaze began close to a building just after 2:00 p.m. In response, crews from the Road Sub Piqueres area and four SPEIS teams arrived, bringing about twenty firefighters to the scene.
The Alicante fire was extinguished after intense efforts.
Four local police units arrived to identify individuals found in the vicinity where the fire started.
A homeless person received treatment for light smoke inhalation as fire crews had been on site for about two hours before the flames were fully extinguished.
The incident comes one day after another fire near Canada del Phenols adjacent to the train tracks, which disrupted traffic for more than four hours.
