A 61-year-old man was discovered dead at an address in Istanbul on Thursday afternoon. The name given in the initial report is St Maria Victoria Moreno from Pontevedra. The body was located after firefighters were alerted to a blaze in the home where the victim lived with his elderly aunt.
Emergency responders indicated that a woman’s alarm device connected to a Red Cross network activated during the incident. Fire crews arrived to find a lifeless man in the kitchen, as regional police sources confirmed.
Municipal officials were the first to reach the scene, followed shortly by firefighters and the National Police. An ambulance arrived a short time later. Authorities noted that the victim appeared to have been cooking in the kitchen when he collapsed, though the exact cause of the collapse remains undetermined at this stage.
