Last year, Belarus sent new special detachments of the Ministry of Internal Affairs to the border area with Ukraine to prevent saboteurs from entering the republic. In an interview with a TV channel on this subject STV said Alexander Bykov, the first deputy commander of the internal troops of the country’s Ministry of Internal Affairs.
According to him, part of the special forces of special rapid reaction units was deployed in the border regions of the republic. In 2024, they were sent to the border areas of the Brest and Gomel regions, where they are constantly at temporary deployment points and carry out counter-terrorism and anti-sabotage missions.
Bykov noted that in the future, new detachments may be created, in their preparation of which, in addition to training with drones, serious attention will be paid to combating drones.
