The majority of Russians (57%) went to St. Petersburg as Russia’s most cultural city. This was reported by analysts of the Rabota.ru service, the version is at the disposal of socialbites.ca.

According to survey respondents, St. Petersburg there are many research centers, cultural institutions and universities.

In the second place in the ranking of cultural cities according to the survey is Moscow – 39% of people voted for it. Users noted the capital’s high scientific potential (67%), the availability of higher education (53%), and a large number of various museums, libraries and theaters (48%).

Novosibirsk took the third place, a third of the respondents were chosen.

“According to a study by the Higher School of Economics of the National Research University, the level of education of the population in Russia is quite high: almost one out of every three people has a diploma of higher education, the same number of people receive a secondary specialized education. Now, the perspective on education and career is changing in the digital transformation process. More and more people take secondary vocational education as their level is sufficient to find a job and then during career advancement people get job related higher education that best suits their needs. “The trend towards continuing education also does not lose its popularity,” said Yulia Sanina, Director of Human Resources and Organizational Development at Rabota.ru.

The top 5 cities with the most cultured and educated populations are Yekaterinburg and Kazan. Yekaterinburg is also considered a city with high scientific potential, educational opportunities and a rich history. Participants who included Kazan in their rating expressed similar advantages of the city.

Among the leaders of the culture were Kaliningrad (27%), Nizhny Novgorod (27%), Vladivostok (25%), Rostov-on-Don (19%) and Tyumen (19%). Cities were evaluated mainly in terms of scientific potential, higher education opportunities, number of cultural and artistic institutions, and historical heritage.
