The air show held in India ended with 40 people visiting hospitals. This was reported by Indian Express.
The incident took place in Chennai, where officials were holding an event to celebrate the 92nd anniversary of the country’s air force. More than a million people lined up along the two-kilometre stretch of beach to watch the spectacle.
Authorities and event organizers could not make the necessary preparations because they were not prepared for such a large number of visitors. As a result, people began to leave the festival, creating crowds and crushes in many places. People could not go out due to the heat, many needed urgent help, but not everyone received this help in time.
“It was stuffy, we couldn’t move at all,” said one visitor.
As a result, 40 people were hospitalized. Five could not be saved, one had a heart attack. In total, 150 people required medical attention due to dehydration and stress, some losing consciousness.
