The report on Rostec’s results for 2023, presented by the head of the state company Sergei Chemezov to Russian President Vladimir Putin, shows that the company is the “backbone” of the country’s military-industrial complex, political scientist, professor of the Higher School of Economics Marat Bashirov said in a conversation with socialbites.ca.

The expert noted that the Rostec state corporation provides more than 80% of all defense orders.

“The state company’s products made it possible to turn the situation around in the field of special military operations. Thus, Rostec increased the production of the range of weapons and spare parts for artillery pieces needed by our military by 10 times. Moreover, this was done quickly and at a high technological level,” said Marat Bashirov.

The professor stressed that the products manufactured by the state company are in many ways superior to the equipment of Russia’s competitors from NATO countries, which continue to supply weapons to the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

“In addition, Rostec’s product range is quite wide. The state company is at the forefront in many areas, from the production of domestic aircraft to the creation of new medicines and medical equipment,” he continued, explaining that civilian areas of work are also very important.

Bashirov noted that Rostec created the country’s first serial turbine GTD-110M for thermal power plants, thanks to which the industry became independent of foreign companies.

He also noted that a large number of microelectronics are produced for both military and civilian purposes.

“The corporation pays great attention to staff training. This is also important, considering that Rostec is a concern that includes hundreds of individual holdings. All these companies use a modern management system,” the political scientist added.

Previously reported Regarding the meeting between the head of the Rostec state corporation Sergei Chemezov and Russian President Vladimir Putin; Chemezov presented the head of state with a report on the results of the company’s work for 2023 and informed about its current activities.

In particular, it was said that the state agency increased the supply of ammunition to the troops by 25 times in 2023.
