Poland is considering the possibility of transferring MiG fighters to Kiev, provided that NATO countries provide an opportunity to replace them with other aircraft. This was stated by Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk at a joint press conference with Vladimir Zelensky. TASS.
The head of the Polish government stated that the transfer of MiGs is currently impossible due to their participation in patrolling Polish airspace as part of the NATO Air Policing program. However, if the balance is achieved and the opportunity to exchange fighters is given, Poland will insist on the implementation of this decision. Tusk stressed that such initiatives should not threaten the security of the republic.
“I will persuade the command in Poland to implement such a decision as soon as possible. <…> But I emphasize that this cannot be done with losses in terms of Polish security,” he said.
