A bill limiting the circle of persons recognized as citizens was submitted to the State Duma. This was reported by “Kommersant”.

The authors of the document explained that under the program of resettlement of compatriots, mainly citizens of Tajikistan, Kazakhstan and Armenia are moving to Russia, who, as a rule, are not representatives of peoples historically living on the territory of Russia. The bill proposes to clarify that not all compatriots are former citizens of the USSR from countries that were previously part of the union, but persons belonging to peoples historically living on the territory of the Russian Federation and their descendants, as well as immigrants from the Russian Federation, the RSFSR and Russia.
