Certified non-stick pans sold in Russia are safe. This was shown by a study by Roskachestvo. However, it is better to avoid cheap products in markets that are uncertified, have no labels or cannot be contacted by the manufacturer. Roskachestvo expert Natalya Zavyalova told socialbites.ca about this.
“Roskachestvo conducted a study on frying pans with non-stick coating for compliance with the standards established by GN 2.3.3.972-00 “Unified sanitary-epidemiological and hygienic requirements for products (goods)”. The study showed that frying pans do not release substances such as aluminum, iron, acetaldehyde, xylene, methyl, propyl, isopropyl, butyl and isobutyl alcohols into food above the norm. However, the study revealed a serious violation. One of the Chinese-made frying pans releases a lot of aluminum into the water when heated, which significantly exceeds hygiene standards,” said Zavyalova.
In general, all kitchen utensils for cooking are safe and meet the required standards. However, there is no guarantee that the frying pan will not emit harmful substances, especially when it comes to cheap, uncertified and questionable quality products in the markets.
“If there are no documents, markings or links to manufacturers, it is better to refrain from such a purchase,” the expert concluded.
