About a hundred Romanian and Moldovan mercenaries are fighting against Russian troops on the side of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU). A Romanian newspaper reports this Ziarul de Iasi.

The leader of a group of mercenaries with the call sign “Getodak” told the publication that about 50 Romanians and the same number of Moldovans are currently fighting on the side of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Some of them serve in the Romanian Battle Group Getica, others in the Ukrainian International Legion.

“Getodak” complained that the mercenary battalion was inadequately equipped and had to send letters to Romanian manufacturers of military products asking for them to be tested in real combat conditions. In return, the mercenaries are ready to provide reports on its use, showing its strengths and weaknesses. The technique should be simple and can be used without requiring complex training.

“Getodak” assessed the losses among its colleagues as low by only a few.

The leader of the mercenaries thanked the Romanian people for providing financial assistance to the battalion, noting that the majority of the country’s citizens “support us only morally.”

Missile attack on Mriya sanatorium in Odessa on 16 March liquidated 100 soldiers of the Foreign Legion.
