The previous night, a 28-year-old man burst into a bistro in Neu-Ulm with a katana and stabbed three people. The victims suffered injuries of varying severity, including serious ones. An 81-year-old and a 55-year-old male patient were urgently taken into surgery. The condition of the latter is still critical. The third guest escaped with minor cuts.
It is known that the attacker first drank alcohol at the same workplace and then went home. An hour later, he returned to the bistro armed with a sword and, for no apparent reason, attacked two guests before another customer subdued him and knocked him to the ground. Before this, the attacker threatened a passerby with a knife, but he escaped and reported the incident to the rescue service.
The suspect appeared before a judge today and was later taken to a local hospital. He is now being tested for sanity.
