There he got acquainted in detail with the facilities of the main base and various training places for operational exercises, went to the observation point, where he received a report on the units’ practical exercise plan for the day and supervised the exercises. KCNA noted:
The North Korean leader expressed “great satisfaction” with the exercises, emphasized the need for more active training, and put forward policy goals for more intense and practical exercises to “guarantee victory in war.”
In his opinion, the KPA needs to make the “highest” demands to improve combat training in order to “contain the constant enemy threat” and “frustrate the slightest attempts to start a war.”
