There was a glitch in the eGov government services portal in Kazakhstan: Kazakhstanis aged a day after the country switched to a single UTC+5 time zone, and their birth dates appeared on their digital documents a day earlier than they should. This was reported by Nur.kz.

National Information Technologies company stated that experts have now resolved the problem.

“We will respond as soon as we learn the reason,” a company representative said.

It was announced that the problem could be fixed by simply clicking the “Update documents” button.

Starting from March 1, Kazakhstan will switch to a single time zone (UTC+5). The working group that drafted the changes concluded that most parts of the republic with a single time zone would use the time “closest to the natural one.”
